About Well Psychotherapy

Where your "Well" is our priority.
What Sets Us Apart

Trauma-Informed Therapy

Trauma-informed therapy represents a shift away from a pathologizing medical model and toward an approach that emphasizes care for the whole person.

We understand symptoms as the unique intersection of a person’s biological, psychological, and emotional experiences within their past and present relationships and environments. Many people seek therapy when one or more of these areas feels strained or underdeveloped.

Our work focuses on understanding the root causes of distress by asking, “What happened to you?” rather than “What’s wrong with you?” and supporting integration within individuals, relationships, and communities.

All Well Psychotherapy therapists engage in post-graduate training in trauma-informed care, with many holding advanced training and certifications in trauma-focused modalities to support clients navigating acute, chronic, or complex trauma.

Our philosophy

  • We believe that everyone deserves support and space to be themselves
Our approach

Therapy at Well Psychotherapy is

Not a sign of weakness or failure, or a place where we try to "fix you."

Therapy at Well Psychotherapy is not a sign of weakness or failure, or a place where we try to "fix you," rather, we see you as inherently valuable and capable of growing and using the capacities you already have to move toward self-awareness and actualization

A safe, affirming, non-judgmental space for exploration and self-care.

Therapy at Well Psychotherapy is a safe, affirming, non-judgmental space to explore thoughts, feelings, core beliefs and capacities, to develop self-care and coping strategies and foster your growth and resilience

A space that does not hold individuals accountable for systemic failures.

Therapy at Well Psychotherapy is a space that does not hold individuals accountable for systemic failures. Instead, we take an intersectional and systemic lens to account for your dynamic experience to overcome barriers and meaningfully enact lasting change

Who We Are & What We Stand For

We are a growing team of counselors, social workers, and therapists who understand trauma and the way that life events affect people biologically, psychologically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.

We are driven by the passion to work creatively with clients and our communities to heal mind, body, brain, and collective experiences from the effects of trauma and adverse life experiences.

We approach psychotherapy relationally, supporting you as a fellow human. You will find ways to escape patterns of somatic, psychological, and emotional “stuckness” to find a new or renewed sense of self.

We engage our community in mutually exploring and defining healing from shared trauma.

Our commitment to ongoing learning, individually and as a team, and to best practices in the field of traumatic stress, help transform the expertise of lived experience into real healing.

Our Mission + Vision

To empower people toward growth and self actualization by guiding them beyond their collective, generational, and personal trauma using collaborative care and community building.

To provide a platform for healing individuals, communities, societies, and a world where trauma is understood and collectively integrated through education, therapy, reframing relationships and rebuilding ourselves and our systems.

Our values

Education, Collaboration, Connection, & Integration

Ethos

Do Well, Feel Well, Live Well

We are all parts of a whole, and we do better, feel better, and live better when we work together.

We cannot function separate from the systems we are embedded in, and we actively work to create safe and transparent spaces of change on individual and community levels.

We respect each person’s dignity and integrity, while simultaneously challenging systemic barriers, tensions, and inequities built into the world we are a part of.

We recognize our privilege and power as an organization, and believe that we can only live well if we are committed to doing well and feeling well.

  • We aim to do well supporting individuals by providing best-practice direct services to enhance feeling well: individual, group, and relationship psychotherapy, education, group experiences, and other healing arts. In an effort to directly support marginalized communities, as well as those uninsured and/or under-insured, in feeling well. Well Psychotherapy works to ensure an adequate allotment of sliding scale and/or pro-bono therapy spaces for those in need. All clients will be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect as an individual—gender identity will be respected, and you will be referred to by your name and pronouns
  • We aim to do well supporting our community by providing safe spaces to feel well: to connect and collaborate, to educate and learn how to challenge oppressive practices, and to elevate future change-makers through informal dialogues and formal supervision and training.
  • We aim to do well supporting social justice by speaking out against unfair practices, staying engaged in community efforts to dismantle systems of marginalization, and deferring to voices that are underrepresented. We are actively seeking to partner with community members and organizations to this end.
We are only living well when we are caring for, and growing with, each other.

As such, any unproductive expressions of hate, intolerance, or similar towards staff or other clients will be worked through therapeutically. If a person not open to doing so, Well Psychotherapy reserves the right to refer elsewhere for services.
