frequently asked questions

and

would therapy be good for me?

Therapy is an individual process, and your journey is unique to you. We believe therapy can be supportive in all seasons of life. Our goal is to make space for you to take time out of the demands of daily routine to look deeper at opportunities for growth.

Scheduling a free 15 minute consultation with one of our therapists can help you further in your decision making process.

Process

how do i choose which therapist to see?

We have a growing diverse staff of therapists with many different specializations. Our Intake Coordinator can make recommendations based on the information you initially share, or you can browse our bios to make an informed choice. We invite you to engage in free 15 minute consultations with as many therapists as you’d like to find the right fit.

what if the therapist I want to see isn’t accepting new clients?

When a therapist's caseload is full, we begin a waitlist for each of them. You are welcome to join their waitlist and we will do our best to estimate a wait time. We will also provide you with alternative recommendations.

what does provisionally licensed mean?

Therapists’ training includes a period of supervision after graduation from their Master’s program. This ensures that therapists new to the field are getting the support and guidance to continue developing into ethical, skilled practitioners. Provisionally licensed therapists are still in this period of supervision.

how long will I be in therapy?

Because we work relationally, therapy at Well Psychotherapy often builds to be a months-long experience. We are here not only to help you prune the overgrown branches of symptoms and conditions that you need help with, but we also help you get to the root of the issues and make lasting change.

how long are the therapy sessions?

The typical therapy session is 50 minutes. We offer 80 minute sessions for those needing extra support and 30 minute check-ins for clients who are working toward ending. Veronica Mollere, LCSW-BACS offers trauma healing intensives that vary in length and commitment.

how will I know when I am done with therapy?

Ending therapy is a collaborative decision between you and your therapist for a number of reasons. We aim to support your self-determination in knowing when your goals have been met, while also encouraging you to stay committed to the often challenging process of therapeutic healing.

do you treat (depression, anxiety, PTSD, etc.)?

Our therapists have expertise in treating most major mental health issues, as well as a variety of relational and life transition issues. Some of our specialities include: trauma, complex trauma and dissociation, depression, anxiety, borderline personality, high-conflict relationships, non-traditional relationship structures and ethical non-monogamy, life-transitions, queer and trans affirming therapy, reproductive mental health and perinatal psychotherapy, neurodivergence and neurodiversity, and more. Don’t hesitate to reach out to our Intake Coordinator to find the right therapist for your unique needs.

do you prescribe medication?

We do not prescribe medication but understand that it can be an essential part of your treatment. We have trusted relationships with a number of physicians and holistic health practitioners in town to offer a range of solutions from nutritional interventions, supplements, and herbs, to psychotropic medication.

what makes you different from other therapists?

Well approaches therapy as a relationship, human to human. We see you as informed by your experiences in the past, and with great potential for a future where you are equipped with tools to be your healthiest self. We are trauma-informed, which means we consider the ways you have been shaped by your biology, your psychology, and social and environmental factors. We collaborate with you instead of dictating to you how your treatment unfolds, and we approach your healing in all the spheres of mind, body, brain, and spirit.

Practice

Yes! We have a Facebook and Instagram page where you’ll receive updates on our offerings, therapists, groups, workshops and events.

where are you located?

Our offices are at 601 N. Carrollton Avenue in Mid-City New Orleans. We have downstairs units for accessibility in addition to our main office upstairs. Additionally, we offer Telehealth options for clients who are residents of Louisiana not living in the Greater New Orleans area

what days and times are you available?

Our therapists are available at a wide range of times and days, and each one has some evening or weekend availability. Appointments may be available, depending on the provider, as early as 8am and as late as 8pm during the weekdays, and during daytime hours on the weekends.

how much does this cost?

Please look here for our current fees, but therapy is offered on a sliding scale for those who are unable to afford our full fees. Generally, sessions cost somewhere between $75 and $175. We accept payment via credit card (preferred) or cash or check. Payment is due at the time of services, and as a courtesy will be billed for you within 24 business hours.

what if I can’t afford your rates?

In addition to sliding scale rates as low as $75, each provider has the option to serve up to four discounted clients: two pro-bono and two for $50. Please inquire about availability of these spots when scheduling, as they are determined on a case-by-case basis.

do you take insurance?

Well doesn't work in-network with any insurance companies. If you have out-of-network benefits, you may be eligible for personal reimbursement. We can provide you with detailed Superbills to submit to your insurance for direct payment to you, and we are partnering with Reimbursify to verify your out-of-network benefits and support you in submitting claims.

For example: You pay our full fee of $130 per session and submit monthly Superbills to your insurance company on your own or via Reimbursify. You have a $1000 OON deductible and a 50/50 split thereafter. Once you have paid for 8 sessions out of pocket ($1040) your insurance company will begin reimbursing you $65 per visit. You still pay Well Psychotherapy $130 per visit, and your insurance company sends you a check for the $65 reimbursement.

what ages do you serve?

We welcome ages 13+, and require caregiver consent for anyone under 18.

do you do virtual/online therapy sessions?

Absolutely, we offer in-person sessions and Telehealth if your circumstances prevent you from coming in-person. All of our therapists are licensed in the state of Louisiana and can see anyone who resides anywhere in this state.

what’s your cancellation policy? how do I schedule / cancel sessions?

We require at least 24 hours notice of cancellation or you will be charged your full fee for the session. As a courtesy, on SimplePractice you can opt into text or email reminders 48 hours in advance of your appointment. Once you’re established with a therapist, you will have their direct contact information and you may text, email, or call them directly for scheduling purposes. If you are unable to reach your therapist, you are welcome to contact the Intake Coordinator at 504.222.2454 or intake@findyourwell.com for scheduling needs.

Please let your therapist know. We work by appointment only and we book our times based on our other appointments for the day. If you contact us within 15 minutes of your appointment time expressing a desire to attend a shortened session, we will meet for the remaining time left in your appointment slot. Unfortunately, we are unable to extend the session time. If we do not hear from you and you do not arrive by 15 minutes past your appointment start, we reserve the right to reschedule you and charge our late cancellation fee.
